SAMHAIN AWAKENING
With Raven Edgewalker and Crow Walker

"We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness." Thich Nhat Hanh
We are unique individual beings, and we are an essential part of a larger whole. To embrace this paradox is to awaken from the epidemic of disconnection that plagues our world. True conscious connection begins with the heart. Opening our hearts, we deepen and strengthen our connections with our humanity. We deepen and strengthen our connections in community with other humans, with the other beings around us, and at this Samhain-tide with the Ancestors and the Otherworld.

In this workshop we will explore our inner borderlands--our tender and joyful edges--as well as the borderlands between the worlds. We aim to step forward, to commit to active presence and conscious co-creation of the universe. To be active and present with, and conscious of, connection.

To help us do this, we plan to explore the power of the word--the language we use and the stories we tell ourselves and each other. We will inspire and conspire with the magic of breath. We will gaze into the mirror and notice the ways in which we reflect each other. We will make art, dance, sing, and express the music our hearts long to make individually and together. We invite you to join us, and to answer the call of awakening in ritual among the trees and beneath the stars.

When and where:
Saturday October 13, 10am-5pm at Ancient Mysteries, and 7:30pm-9pm at Garrison Park
Sunday October 14, 10am-2:30pm at Ancient Mysteries

Cost: sliding scale of $100-$150. A deposit of $25 is required to hold your space. Final payment must be made by September 15, 2012.

Partnership Magic

A 2-Day Magic Class 1 pm - 9 pm

Sun. Apr. 15, 2012 & Sun. Apr. 29, 2012

Taught by WildCat and Fireball

In this two-day class, we will work with magical tools (Tarot and trance) to

  • discern the intentions our higher selves and our spiritual allies have for our life partnerships.
  • craft a powerful spell (a "Web of Change") which will help us make the changes needed
  • meet some of the internal personas who create our less functional relationship patterns, and
  • help them "grow up" into the wonderful characters they could be!

In our previous workshops, we have seen this two-day process lead participants to deep insights and powerful transformations at a much lower cost than therapy. (And, need we mention, magic is much more fun!)

About the teachers: WildCat has been working as a priestess and teacher in the Reclaiming tradition for over a decade, and has taught a number of Tejas Web classes, including this one, which is based on her own work. She also trained in the Feri tradition with Thorn Coyle. Fireball has been a Witch for over 30 years and is a certified Life Coach. Both are passionate about coaching adults in consciously creating their lives, and using magic to improve their relationships.

Witches of all experience levels welcome! This magic class is sponsored by Tejas Web, and will be held at Rhiannon's Rest, a magical Victorian retreat near Oak Hill. Class size limited, so reserve your spot early! Registration fee $200/couple ($150 with deposit before Apr. 5). For questions or to register, email wildcat.russell@gmail.com

FIRE ritual for Imbolc/Brigid

The VORTEX and Tejas Web present
Two Nights of Theatrical Ritual honoring
The Element of FIRE

When: Friday and Saturday,
February 3-4, 2012 8pm
Two Nights Only!

Where: The Yard @ The VORTEX

Admission: Free!

Donations Welcome.

Also accepting Baby Formula and Food donations for SafePlace Pantry.

Celebrate Imbolc with VORTEX performers and witches of Tejas Web as we turn the
wheel. Gather outside in The Yard @ The VORTEX for a magical honoring of the
Element that has shaped our lives in Central Texas so much this past year. We
will also honor Brigid, Triple Goddess of Poetry, Healing, and Smithcraft, as
well as the energies of Pele, Phoenix, Golden Lion, and Dragon.

With the severe drought, burn ban, and devastating Wild Fires, VORTEX postponed
the full production of The Elementals: FIRE, choosing instead to honor FIRE with
2 nights of ritual including candle magic, singing, storytelling, cauldron work,
and fire-dancing. If we get rain and there is no burn ban, there will gather
around the hearth fire.

Inbolc, the 1st of February belongs to Brigid, (Brighid, Brigit, Bride), Celtic
goddess and Christian Saint. Her ancient festival on February 1 was known as
Imbolc, a time that marks the first lactating of the ewes, the flow of milk that
heralds the return of the life-giving forces of spring. The Catholic Church
replaced this festival with Candlemas on February 2, dedicated to the Virgin
Mary and featuring candlelight processions.
