RITUAL FOR YULE/WINTER SOLSTICE and YULE BAZAAR
Gates open 10:45 AM. Ritual starts at 11 AM, Yule Bazaar is from 11 am to 6 pm. At The VORTEX, 2307 Manor Rd., Austin

Join us during the season of the longest night of the year, as we gather to honor the light in each of us. We weave our blessings and wishes together for our community in celebration and song. Children and parents are welcome to this child friendly ritual. We will craft magical ornaments to take home and welcome the return of the light. After the ritual, stay and shop with pagan vendors and local artisans for those unique and locally produced gifts.

You may also want to bring:
- water to stay hydrated
- a chair or blanket to sit on
- a finger food dish for the community potluck after the ritual and your own washable plate and utensils
- a donation of an unwrapped toy for Blue Santa collection

There is no charge, but donations to offset the costs associated with the ritual are gratefully accepted and benefit Tejas Web and the Vortex. We ask that you please respect that all Tejas Web rituals and events are drug- and alcohol-free.

THE NEW YEAR'S WEB OF CHANGE: CRAFTING YOUR DREAM FOR 2012
A 2-Day Magic Class
Taught by WildCat and Fireball

The dark time of the year from Samhain to Brigid is the time when Witches let go of the old and make room for the new. In this two-day class, we will work with magical tools (including Tarot, trance, and dreamwork) to discern the intentions we and our spiritual allies have for our lives in 2012. Then we will craft a Web of Change, a powerful spell for the New Year which will help us to work with our allies to manifest our dreams for this coming year.

Witches of all experience levels welcome! There are no prerequisites for this class, but it will be very helpful if you are already in conversation with some spiritual allies, and are familiar with basic magical practices such as grounding, casting a circle, and raising energy.

This Wiccan magic class will be held at Rhiannon's Rest, a magical Victorian retreat near Oak Hill. Class size limited, so reserve your spot early! Nov. 1, Tuesday
RITUAL FOR THE FEAST OF SAMHAIN
Gates open at 7pm for meditation walk and visiting Ancestor Altar.
Ritual starts at 7:30pm
At The VORTEX, 2307 Manor Rd., Austin

Join us as we journey to commune with our ancestors and descendants. We reclaim the powers of Love, Law, Knowledge, Liberty and Wisdom. We restore the balance and heal ourselves and our communities.

Please plan to arrive between 7 and 7:30 to allow time to join the meditation walk before the ritual. We will create a spell as part of this ritual, and encourage participants to bring a small bottle or container with a secure cap to carry this spell back with you. Ritual attire encouraged!

You may also want to bring:
- water to stay hydrated
- an offering or object for the Ancestor Altar
- a finger food dish for the community potluck after the ritual
- a donation for Safe Place

This ritual has a long trance and may not be appropriate for young children. Parents may bring their children but must be responsible for them. No child care is provided.

There is no charge, but donations to offset the costs associated with the ritual are gratefully accepted. We will also be accepting donations for Safe Place.

Near Lake Travis outside of Austin

Join us for magical work and play in community with each other, the Ancestors, and the Fae as we explore the crossroads of divination, including Tarot, Runes, Scrying, Ogham, Bones and Tea Leaves. Using movement, mirth, art, trance, ecstasy, and ritual, we will initiate and deepen relationship with these ancient divinatory allies.

We will gather in the woods of beautiful central Texas near Lake Travis beginning Friday evening, December 2nd, through Sunday morning, December 4th. We will nourish ourselves and each other with healthy meals, including a gourmet dinner on Saturday, and with the magic we create together. Though we anticipate the magic may be intense, our restorative schedule allows for attendance at any and all of the workshops and rituals of your choosing, long walks, personal practice, relaxation, and time to spend with friends old and new.

Tejas Web is a community of ritualists, witches, activists, and magicians who seek to transform our world and our spiritual practices with consensus-based magic. Since 1994, we have been creating rituals, classes, camps, and events centered on these spiritual practices.

Tejas Web is part of the greater Reclaiming Community. The Reclaiming Principles of Unity is a written document that holds an understanding of our spiritual values in the global work of Reclaiming.

Tejas Web turns the wheel together as we gather for magic on the Fall Equinox, to work in sacred space, to rediscover consensus discussion on a community level, and to make magic to open to the opportunities of balance in gender-inclusive ritual and language.

By exploring various states of dropped and open attention, boundaries, self-care and deep listening, we learn to access the wisdom of the mysterious ones more fully in our lives and rituals.

LEADING TRANCE
Trance is a powerful ritual and magical tool that draws us into the altered state of awareness where magic--and change--can happen. In this workshop, we learn and practice creating and facilitating the trance experience in ritual, including techniques of induction and emergence. We deepen our own trance experience, and learn to share this experience with others.

Elements of Magic class or equivalent is recommended as a prerequisite for this work. Particularly for the Accessing Deity workshop, Iron Pentacle or personal shadow work is also recommended.

Fee: $25 per workshop, payable in advance, or in full when the class meets. We ask you to register in advance: you'll be sent more details when you register.

Our Intention is to honor the Fae by summoning forth our Inner Faery for some Mid-Summer fun!

Bring your water guns loaded to help with a cool start! Faery-fashion encouraged! This ritual is child-friendly.

FOOD & DRINKS: Bring your own refreshments and some to share, as The Butterfly Cafe at the VORTEX will NOT be open. Finger foods are best for both humans and faeries. Tejas Web rituals are drug- and alcohol-free.

Join us as we offer our love to Gaia, our Earth Mother. We embrace Her. We make love to Her. We acknowledge the blessing that we are alive. We acknowledge our human errors and accept responsibility for the changes weeach need to make in our lives. We joyfully offer back to Gaia/Earth Her rightful portion of this Earthly Abundance.

Tejas Web rituals are open to the public. Please bring something to sit on if you need to sit during the ritual and remember to bring plenty of water to drink it will likely be very hot.

Turn into the park from Manchaca Rd then make an immediate right (there will be a sign with a arrow pointing to the right), following this drive all the way around to the parking lot. Park in the parking lot near the sportscomplex and restrooms. Facing the restrooms there will be a trail just to the left of the restrooms, follow the trail to into the park. The ritual will be on the left just before the large pavilion (on right).

Admission is free but donations to support the work of Tejas Web are gratefully accepted.

Join with Tejas Web to celebrate the emergence of Spring! We joyfully mark the turning of the wheel and welcome home the Light.

ELEMENTS OF MAGIC: Seeking connection to the Elements and balance within ourselves

With the art of magic, we deepen our vision and focus our will. In this class we begin the practice of Magic and Witchcraft by working with the Elements of Magic: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. Techniques include: visualization, sensing and projecting energy, chanting, trance, creating magical space, spellcraft, and structuring rituals.

Group experience follows feminist consensus process. We hope to provide a fair and nurturing environment for all participants. We welcome both beginning students, and advanced students who want to deepen their experience of the sacred elements.

Prerequisite: Reading of the first six chapters of The Spiral Dance by Starhawk.

We ask that applicants be committed to attending all classes, or let us know in advance if not.

Students must pay for classes in full and up front to reserve their space in the class. For all 6 classes, the cost is $60.00, *nonrefundable*. The Pentacle of Pearl

The Pentacle of Pearl holds deep healing magic, and shines with the vision of authentic community. As we work with the Pentacle of Pearl, we discover tools for shifting relationships so that the points of Pearl--Love, Knowledge, Wisdom, Law, Liberty--become living realities in our lives. This is magic we make in connection with each other. Through Pearl, we take the personal work of the Iron Pentacle out into the world.

Prerequisites: Elements of Magic or equivalent. Previous Iron Pentacle work recommended. This is a Reclaiming core class.

Sliding fee scale: $100 - $160. Pay what is right for you within this range. A non-refundable $25 deposit holds your space.

Who are the Fae? Also known as the People of Peace or the Shining Ones, they are humanity’s closest cousins. They are the guardians of the sacred land, weavers and shapers of our world. We often speak of working in partnership and alliance with them, and we honor them in our rituals.

In this all-ages weekend of magical play and work, we will seek to experience and to understand the nature of Faerie and of the Fae. We will sing and drum, play dress-up, and create art and ritual in wild, green places beneath the sun and stars. We will journey into the realm of Faerie, walk the labyrinth, and dance with our shining cousins. We will honor old alliances and new, bridging the past, present, and future of our sacred partnership.

Join us to create this weekend of magical community.

This February, Tejas Web will hold the 7th Annual Tejas Web Brigid Faire.

The Brigid Faire is a fundraiser for Tejas Web, an inclusive web of allies operating within the Reclaiming tradition of eco-feminist earth-based magic.

This year's Faire will be held Sunday, February 7, 2010 from noon until 5pm at the Vortex Theater Yard, at 2307 Manor Road.

Midway through the Faire, at 2pm, Tejas Web will hold a public Brigid Ritual.Brigid is the tri-fold Goddess of Poetry, Healing and Smithcraft.

We invite a variety of Pagan and Pagan-friendly artists and vendors to participate and to display their talents and wares in Sacred Space. Our ideal event includes performances by poets, drummers and musicians of all kinds. Come on out and show your skills!

Reclaiming will have an educational table, and we invite other magical or eco-friendly groups to come out and have educational and demonstration booths as well. Want to talk about your kick-ass classes and rituals? Want to hold an organic gardening demonstration? This is the place!

We also seek vendors of all kinds. Past Faires have included herbalists, artisans, soapmakers, booksellers, craftspeople, clothiers and many others who overlap well with the Pagan community. Tarot reading in several “flavors” is now traditional at this event.

Vendor Fee: In past years, we have operated on a set vendor fee of $20. This year, we are conducting an experiment, and asking vendors to tithe a portion of their proceeds back to Tejas Web.
· Suggested donation is $20 for any for profit businesses, but please consider a tithe of 10% of your profits – giving you the flexibility to donate something greater if you have massive sales, and less if you come out and have fun but don’t sell much.
· Cash or check will be accepted on site for your donations.
· Fees are waived for non-profit groups providing demonstration and educational tables.

In this seventh of a series of stand-alone Partnership Magic retreats based on the seven chakras of a love relationship, we will explore our connection to Spirit, and practice recognizing and staying connected with our Higher Selves, aligning our thoughts, feelings, and actions with our Higher intentions, and being each other's One True Love. Finally we will explore the last challenge of a conscious love partnership: taking the lid off (raising the upper limit to joy and intimacy in the partnership), and staying in a positive flow of energy.

Open to committed partners in nontraditional committed love relationships as well as married couples. Some previous experience with magic needed. Each Partnership Magic workshop stands alone, and may be taken individually or in combination with any of the other retreats.

In this last of a series of stand-alone Partnership Magic retreats based on the seven chakras of a love relationship, we will revisit all the chakras, celebrate our love, and explore the role of the community in consciously supporting the health and growth of our life partnerships. Although the work builds on the previous retreats, like the other Partnership Magic weekends, this workshop stands alone. This last retreat of the series includes a Sunday afternoon ceremony in which the participants renew their vows to each other -- appropriate for June, the traditional wedding month. Everyone who participated in any of the retreats will be invited to come to the celebration.

Join with Tejas Web, as we celebrate the Winter Solstice and
Saturnalia with a family-friendly ritual featuring storytelling and
song. Gather around Vesta's Hearth to cheer Old-Man Saturn. We will
take the light from Vesta’s Sacred Flame and bring the Warmth of her
Fire to our Communities and Hopes for the Future.

Wear a funny hat! There will be Candy and Fruit.

Musical (acoustic) companions such as guitars, harmonicas, drums and
hand

percussion to help tell your story or sing your song are encouraged.

You may wish to bring: a Story, a Song, Musical Instruments, a
Candle (to light and take home with you), a potluck food item, your
own dishes and utensils, a small gift for a White Elephant exchange
(Coolness that you have already and are ready to give away).
Children’s gifts encouraged. Tejas Web is also collecting backpacks,
socks, hats, gloves, etc. in support of Lifeworks (see below).

No drugs or alcohol please.

Samhain ritual Intention: As we stand personally and globally at the crossroads, we call on our Ancestors, work our magic and create the world we want to live in.

We invite you to bring objects to place on an altar to our Ancestors. There will be a place in the ritual to name and honor the recent dead and another time in the ritual to name and honor the newly born.

Please bring a potluck dish or snacks to share for our after ritual feast. Dishes that require no utensils are especially welcome! Please bring your own plates and drinking water.

Ritual attire encouraged!

SACRED LAND, SACRED SERVICE

The Fall Equinox is a time of balance, when we stand between light and dark, summer and winter. As we acknowledge the end of the season of abundance and harvest, and look towards the time of the year when the days draw in and the year moves to its close, we feel our closeness to the land, and we look for ways to show our gratitude to the Earth.

Tejas Web is hosting a day of sacred service to the earth, on beautiful wooded land near Austin that has cradled many of our camps and events. We will work together during the day on tasks and chores that serve the land, and as we end our day of work we will share food and collaboratively plan a Fall Equinox ritual of acknowledgement and gratitude. Please join us!

Details:

When: Saturday September 20, between 9am and early evening (if you are not able to arrive as early as 9am, come as soon as you can!)

What to bring:
- dress for the weather (including good sun protection: it will be hot) in clothes that are OK to get dirty
- work gloves and sturdy shoes
- clippers or other tools to cut brush
- we could use a wheelbarrow or two
- plenty of water to drink (more than you expect to need!)
- your own sack lunch
- for dinner before the ritual, a potluck item to share that is pre-prepared and does not need heating or cooking (there will be a refrigerator to store things that need to be kept cool)
- your inspirations for ritual planning

Open to anyone who self-identifies as belonging
to, affiliated with, or interested in Tejas Web
and/or Reclaiming Tradition, as well as family,
friends, and allies.

Intention: We gather to tell our stories, in gratitude
and with open hearts for what was, is, and shall be; we
gather with family and friends to remember, honor,
and heal; to celebrate, strengthen, and rejoice; and to
vision, weave, and birth.

Wildflower Gathering provides casual time and space
to be present in community; to nurture ourselves and
our relationships; to meet new friends and to re-kindle
old friendships; to remember the past and vision the
future; to do magic in the here and now.

Saturday's ritual will include a Stone Soup dinner, so
bring a food ingredient contribution and a story (5-7
mins) for the Bardic Circle.

Wildflower Gathering will offer a community project
back to the land and will share in the labor of creating community
meals.

Where: Wildflower Gathering will be in Central
Texas, near Austin at a lovely private and rustic venue.
In the interest of preserving the privacy of the
Gathering, venue and directions details will be
provided after registration, with your registration confirmation.

Cost: $40 – $70, sliding scale. Day rate is by
donation. Please pay as much as you can afford. No
charge for children under 8. Funds pay for food,
insurance, and supplies. If we collect any donations for
this, we will offer a $25 scholarship.

Food: Simple meals and water will be provided.
Volunteers will be needed for preparation and cleanup
of each meal. Please bring and be prepared to wash
your own personal dishes. Please bring anything
special that you must have to eat or drink.
Accommodations: (3 options) Indoor and outdoor
showers are available regardless of housing.

Tenting: Tent in wooded, leafy-floored groves or on a
ridge with a magnificent view. Many beautiful private
tenting spots. Primitive (no electric or water). Toilet
and shower facilities available at main house. Bring
all of your own gear.

Limited Indoor Dorm Beds: Beds are generally
reserved for those who otherwise would not be able to
attend the Gathering. There are several double beds
available for couples. Be sure to let us know if you
need to reserve a bed.

Limited Indoor Dorm – Bring your own Bed: There
is a lovely empty house, where you can bed down
inside (other space might be available as well). Bring
your own air mattress/bedding.

Vending (Readers, Services & items): This event is
a community gathering, so professional vending is not
a good fit. But if you’re OK with an honor system,

AIKIDO, LEADERSHIP, AND EMBODIED MAGICAL PRACTICE
With Anne Hill
Aikido is a non-competitive martial art that combines non-violence and self-defense. It has its spiritual roots in animism, and emphasizes being in harmony with all the energies of the universe and aligning ourselves in every moment with the center of creation.
The practice of aikido has profound implications for our magical growth and development, particularly the ways we step into leadership in our communities. How aligned is our will to our actions? How can we increase our magical effectiveness in a deeply embodied way? This workshop will focus on simple, non-strenuous movements from aikido that challenge and deepen the embodiment of our spirituality.
Working with five basic principles of movement: grounding, balance, extension, center, and alignment, we move to a deeper understanding of embodiment in daily life and spiritual practice. The workshop culminates in a powerful Shinto purification exercise, translated as "The practice of settling the spirit and returning to the spirit of the universe."

Anne Hill, D.Min., is an author, dreamworker, teacher, and musician. She is on the faculty of Cherry Hill Seminary, holds a black belt in aikido, and is longtime Reclaiming and Feri priestess. Anne is co-author with Starhawk of Circle Round: Raising Children in Goddess Traditions, and her poetry and essays have been published widely. She lectures and teaches throughout the US, writes an award-winning blog, hosts a weekly dream radio show, has a private dreamwork practice, and is currently writing a book on dreaming.

Fee: $140-$210 for early registration before Mabon, September 22; $180-$210 for registration after September 22. A non-refundable deposit of $50 holds your spot. The fee includes instruction from key Reclaiming teacher from California, breakfast, drinks, and snacks, and 2 nights accommodation (you may arrive and settle in on Friday evening, but will be responsible for your own dinner). Witchcraft is thought of as an earth-based religion in touch with the natural world of forests, wetlands, oceans, deserts, and mountains. But many Witches live in cities, where there is more concrete, steel, and glass than there are rivers and trees. Some say that it's hard to be a Witch in a city, a human being in touch with the natural world in an asphalt jungle. Still, humans are a part of the natural world. What if we saw the cities we build as part of the natural world, too? How does the wild heartbeat of our city mirror the wild heartbeat of the Earth? How can we connect with the sacred and make magic in the midst of chaos? What does it mean to be an urban Witch?

Fourteen years ago today [March 18, 2008] about 30 of us gathered under a
live oak tree on an early spring Texas morning. It was a
balmy morning. The very first buds of bluebonnets were
beginning to break open and show their blue. We barely
knew each other and we surely didn't know what the next
week would hold. It was the first Texas Witch Camp. It was
the first Reclaiming Witch Camp to be offered outside of
the three home sites in California, Michigan, or British
Columbia.

Starhawk, Carol McAnnally, and a woman from the Northwest
named Rosemary had come to guide us through a 6-day
intensive. We worked the story of Persephone. Not the one
of my children's story book, where she is carried against
her will into the underworld. In our story Persephone
chose to step into the dark, into the mystery, into the
unknown. For better or worse, each of us also chose to
walk a stone-lined path into the deep. The rock beneath
our feet was limestone, riddled with caves and mysterious
channels of flow. The sky overhead was a waxing moon over
the deep heart of Texas.

The ritual that night didn't end. We were left in the
underworld for a day, one day in hell. I think that for
years later our Tejas camps resonated with the pattern of
that ritual; a day when it felt like everything was
difficult, hellish. In the good camps, for the lucky ones,
we emerge and celebrate our return to the world of life.
When the week was done we danced the spring. The paths of
Stonehaven were thick with bluebonnets so that we stepped
carefully not to crush them. And the first Tejas Web had
been woven into the larger Reclaiming world of magic.

Today I am in Washington DC for actions against the war.
And as we walk the streets and contemplate the cold floors
of jail, I will never loose my way to the well of memory.

This experiential 4-session class explores the
Major Arcana of the Tarot as a mirror of the
lights and shadows of our soul, an opening into
the powers of desire, will, choice and magic.
All levels of Tarot experience are welcome.
Seasoned reader, sincere novice, or anywhere in
between--if you feel called, we invite you to
join us as we journey with the Tarot through the
mystery of who we have been, are, and may become.

to let go of your assumptions and teachings and

This class offers a path into the mysteries of the Tarot, an experiential introduction to the cards from an intuitive and magical perspective. The class explores the key meanings and magical energies of the Tarot Major and Minor Arcana, including the Court cards. You will learn basic spreads and gain confidence in reading the cards.

The seven pointed star, like the pentacle, has a long and rich history of occult powers and meanings. Explore this portal which is called the Faery Star, Elven Star, Star of the Pleiades, the Cherokee Star, and the Star of the Seven Sisters, to name a few.

In a ritual setting, learn about the symbol that connects myth and legend from Aboriginal Australia, Celtic Britain, North America, Ancient Greece, The Indian subcontinent, Japan and Mayan Mexico. What powers and potential magical practices and lessons does the Septagram contain?

Join us at the center of the seven directions prepared for discovery and experimental magik. Mysteries of the Faery Star presumes but does not require basic magickal training such as Elements of Magic.

This weekend intensive offers time and space for deep personal work in a peaceful, natural setting. We honor and call on the Ancestors and the Fey, and summon the ancient magic of the WitchÕs tool, the Pentacle. With meditation, trance, the shaping and directing of energy, sound and rhythm and movement, ritual, art and dream, we seek the flow of the River of Blood within ourselves.

This intensive is intended to work with The River of Tears: In-Depth Work with the Pentacle of Pearl (see March 2008). These Rivers of myth and tale carry the stories of our own personal journeys. Our energy rides their waters. The currents of the River of Blood and the River of Tears draw us into deepening relationship with ourselves, others, and communities.

Through the Pentacle of Iron --the energies of Sex, Self, Passion, Pride and Power--we channel and enhance the flow of the River of Blood within ourselves, claiming our ancestral truth, embracing our human birthright, and strengthening our skills and powers.
