A Magical Mabon: Gender and Spirituality in Reclaiming
The VORTEX, 2307 Manor Rd., Austin
Join Tejas Web to honor the balance of the Fall Equinox with community ritual, a consensus workshop facilitated by Morgana and Juniper, discussion about gender and spirituality in magical space, and lunch.
Tejas Web is a community of ritualists, witches, activists, and magicians who seek to transform our world and our spiritual practices with consensus-based magic. Since 1994, we have been creating rituals, classes, camps, and events centered on these spiritual practices.
Tejas Web is part of the greater Reclaiming Community. The Reclaiming Principles of Unity is a written document that holds an understanding of our spiritual values in the global work of Reclaiming.
http://www.reclaiming.org/about/directions/unity.html
There has been a wide call for the Principles of Unity to be more gender inclusive or more gender neutral. This sentence is the one that is under consideration to be changed: “Honoring both Goddess and God, we work with female and male images of divinity, always remembering that their essence is mystery which goes beyond form.”
Reclaiming Communities around the world are gathering to discuss these important issues. Tejas Web turns the wheel together as we gather for magic on the Fall Equinox, to work in sacred space, to rediscover consensus discussion on a community level, and to make magic to open to the opportunities of balance in gender-inclusive ritual and language.
Lunch is provided with vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, and gluten-free options. Attendance for this event is by donation at the door (for the food and the venue). Suggested donation $10 but no one turned away for lack of funds.
Please RSVP your attendance and food option (omnivore, etc.) to Suzanne, mcanna314@hotmail.com (so that we will have enough lunch for you).

ACCESSING DEITY: AN INTRODUCTION TO THE ART AND PRACTICE OF ASPECTING
We respectfully build relationships with the Gods and deepen our knowledge of them through personal encounters. We learn and practice the powerful and transformative tool of Aspecting in the Reclaiming tradition. By exploring various states of dropped and open attention, boundaries, self-care and deep listening, we learn to access the wisdom of the mysterious ones more fully in our lives and rituals.
Tuesday November 15, 7-10pm
LEADING TRANCE
Trance is a powerful ritual and magical tool that draws us into the altered state of awareness where magic--and change--can happen. In this workshop, we learn and practice creating and facilitating the trance experience in ritual, including techniques of induction and emergence. We deepen our own trance experience, and learn to share this experience with others.
Elements of Magic class or equivalent is recommended as a prerequisite for this work. Particularly for the Accessing Deity workshop, Iron Pentacle or personal shadow work is also recommended.
Fee: $25 per workshop, payable in advance, or in full when the class meets. We ask you to register in advance: you'll be sent more details when you register.
For more information or to register by email, contact Suzanne, mcanna314@hotmail.com, 512-282-5541, or Midnight, midnight@ancient-mysteries.net, 512-373-4411. DIVINATION RESTORATIVE: Deepening our magic in community with divination tools, mirth and play
Near Lake Travis outside of Austin
Join us for magical work and play in community with each other, the Ancestors, and the Fae as we explore the crossroads of divination, including Tarot, Runes, Scrying, Dowsing, Ogham, and Bones. Using movement, mirth, art, trance, ecstacy, and ritual, we will initiate and deepen relationship with these ancient divinatory allies.
We will gather in the woods of beautiful central Texas near Lake Travis beginning Friday evening, December 2nd, through Sunday afternoon, December 4th. We will nourish ourselves and each other with healthy meals, including a gourmet dinner on Saturday, and with the magic we create together. Though we anticipate the magic may be intense, our restorative schedule allows for attendance at any and all of the workshops and rituals of your choosing, long walks, personal practice, relaxation, and time to spend with friends old and new.
